If the queue forming outside Isetan Scotts at Shaw House is anything to go by, then perhaps Luke's Lobster needs no introduction. The casual dining spot from the US, with outposts in Tokyo, recently opened its first location in Southeast Asia, serving up the popular Maine-style lobster roll, among other seafood-centric dishes. The open-concept restaurant was originally meant to seat 23 diners. But with social distancing measures in place, it is only able to seat 17 at the moment.

If you're one of the lucky few to grab a seat, items on the menu worth trying, in addition to the lobster, include shrimp or crab rolls, which are also served in the signature grilled, buttered buns and finished off with lemon and special seasoning. If having to decide on one is impossible, fret not as the option to try all three is possible with the Luke's Trio. In addition to the rolls, hearty soups like the clam chowder and lobster bisque are worth a try too. Also available are a selection of the perfect accompanying beverages, such as iced teas, lemonade, draught beers, and wines by the glass.

Since we won't be jetting off to Germany to celebrate Oktoberfest this year, Brotzeit is bringing Oktoberfest to us. From mid September until 25 October, indulge in German and German-inspired dishes, created by new Group Executive Chef Lorenz Raich. There will also be specially brewed beers to mark the occassion.

Bites that should not be missed include the platter of Preserved and Smoked Spreads (smoked trout, duck confit, and chicken truffle) served with crisp lettuce leaves and mini pretzels, hand-breaded Crispy Fried Pig Ears, Giant Pretzel with Farmer Sausage, and the Crispy Roasted Pork Shoulder with fluffy potato dumplings and grilled vegetables. Wash it all down with the Hofbräu Oktoberfestbier, which is a full-bodied, hoppy beer that pairs well with rich food.

With a roof deck that boasts hard-to-beat views, Kinki is a go-to spot for CBD folk looking to unwind with a drink (or four) after a long day. But with safety measures set in place, the urban Japanese establishment is currently pushing itself as a restaurant that serves inventive Japanese dishes and cocktails, in hopes of luring back its regulars, as well as new patrons.

At Kinki, expect a menu that prizes fresh, quality ingredients, particularly rare and seasonal items from Japan, while tapping on non-traditional cooking techniques. What results is something new yet familiar. Such inventive dishes include the Spicy Buffalo Katsu, where tender Nagano pork meets the addictive heat of buffalo wings. Then there is the filling Unagi Claypot and Buta Kakuni Claypot, which boast sweet and savoury flavours, as well as the addictive crunch from the charred rice bits. The Crusty Lamb Rack is also something worth trying, where the crunch of the panko crust is layered with smooth, savory mentaiko underneath.
