Across its whiskies and experiences, this philosophy finds expression in many forms. Today, it is reflected through an artistic collaboration that bridges whisky and fine art, a rare single malt shaped by decades of foresight, and an immersive dining concept that brings Japanese hospitality to life in Singapore.
For over a century, the House of Suntory has stood as a custodian of Japanese craftsmanship, guided by a philosophy rooted in patience, restraint, and respect for time. From its earliest days, the House has seen itself not simply as a maker of whisky, but as a cultural steward that preserves traditions while allowing them to evolve with care and intent.

Art Meets Whisky
Hibiki 30 Years Old
The House of Suntory’s collaboration between Hibiki and renowned Japanese painter Hiroshi Senju reflects a shared belief in harmony between people, nature, and craft. Rather than approaching art as ornamentation, the partnership positions artistry as a continuation of philosophy, where whisky and art speak the same language of balance and restraint.
Hibiki 21 Years Old
The collaboration culminates in limited editions of Hibiki 21 Years Old and Hibiki 30 Years Old, each transformed into a visual expression of Japanese mastery. Senju’s work, known for drawing from Japan’s landscapes and natural materials, reimagines the relationship between whisky, art, and nature through his painting, Waterfall on Colors ‘Hibiki’.
Inspired by Hibiki’s Kokimurasaki hue, the artwork features ten shades of purple, created through Senju’s distinctive technique that allows water to guide the flow of colour. The result is not a depiction, but a moment captured, mirroring Hibiki’s own philosophy as an artful blend shaped by intuition and time.
For Hibiki 21 Years Old, the waterfall imagery appears on both the label and presentation box, echoing the whisky’s sense of balance. Hibiki 30 Years Old is presented as a collector’s piece, housed in a byōbu-style display that reflects the depth and confidence of the expression within.

If Hibiki expresses harmony through blending, Yamazaki reflects the pioneering spirit of Japanese single malt whisky. Nowhere is this more evident than in Yamazaki 25 Years Old Mizunara, a rare expression that stands as a symbol of foresight and long-term commitment.
Mizunara oak, first embraced by the House of Suntory in the 1940s, is known for its fragility and complexity. It demands time and skill, often revealing its character only after decades. Choosing to age a whisky exclusively in Mizunara is not a technical decision alone, but a philosophical one.
Yamazaki 25 Years Old Mizunara
Yamazaki 25 Years Old Mizunara represents the culmination of that choice; an expression that stands as a marker of patience, shaped by decisions made many years ago. Its character reflects this long journey, offering subtle depth and quiet complexity that unfold gradually, much like the wood that defines it.
Encased in a handcrafted box assembled using a traditional Japanese nail-free locking method, the expression reflects the same care and restraint that guided its creation.

Helmed by chef-partner Sho Naganuma, BARREL combines wood-fire cooking, thoughtful flavour construction, and whisky pairing to create a dining experience that celebrates connection and time. The restaurant is designed for both lunch and dinner, with a flexible menu that includes a la carte options and curated set experiences.
BARREL also offers one of the most extensive collections of Suntory whiskies in Asia, including Hibiki Japanese Harmony, Hibiki 21 Years Old, and Hibiki 30 Years Old. Guests can explore whisky flights, such as The Story of Hibiki, which introduces Hibiki Japanese Harmony in Highball, Rock, and Mizuwari formats, as well as elevated options featuring Yamazaki and Hakushu expressions. For collectors, rare whisky flights offer a chance to taste expressions up to 30 years old.
