Bobby Carey and Tom Hogan are the Co-Founders of Studio Ryecroft, a creative hospitality consultancy responsible for notable F&B destinations in Singapore, Bangkok, and beyond.                        
                                            

“Studio Ryecroft is the hospitality consultancy we founded in Singapore where we work across bars, restaurants, live music venues, lounges, and hotel social spaces, but the work is never really about the category. It is about creating places with a reason to exist: Rooms with rhythm, memory, generosity, and a point of view.

We have worked together for years, so there is a lot of shorthand between us and a healthy amount of disagreement before anything gets good. Bobby tends to live deep in the concept, creative direction, beverage, guest experience, and emotional life of the room. Meanwhile, Tom brings the commercial structure, delivery discipline, client trust, and operational clarity that turn ambition into something real.

A recent project we are especially proud of is BAR KAP at the House of Tan Yeok Nee in Singapore – our first signed Studio Ryecroft project. The brief asked us to create a modern cocktail bar inside one of Singapore’s most important historic residences, without treating heritage like wallpaper.

The name references Tan Yeok Nee’s title of Kapitan. The venue moves through different rooms and moods. The Y-shaped communal bar, era-specific drinks, custom ceramicware, handmade wooden menu box, and aged cocktail programme all came from one central idea: A bar rooted in the building, but alive today.

We are also proud of Studio Ryecroft Standards, our 380-point diagnostic and benchmarking
framework. Everyone in hospitality talks about standards, but “make the service better” is about as useful as telling a chef to “make it tastier”. Standards only matter when they become visible, measurable and human. How long does a guest wait before being acknowledged? Does the first order arrive before the room loses momentum? Does the lighting make people look good? Does the venue still feel generous when it is full?

What will make more people sit up and take notice about our work is that Asia is not waiting for permission anymore. The region has the talent, capital, audience, and cultural confidence to create some of the most interesting hospitality in the world. Studio Ryecroft was built for that moment.

We are busy and grateful to be busy, but clear about the work that suits us. We are at our best with owners, operators and hotel groups who bring ambition, trust, and appetite to build something properly. Not just a handsome venue, but a place with local relevance, commercial intelligence, and a reason to return."
