Hidden on the second floor of a nondescript Club Street shophouse is Ghostwriter, an incubator space that allows for three-week to month-long F&B residencies. The concept, backed by the team behind Sago House, Low Tide, and Underdog Inn, welcomes Guerilla (aka GRLA), its first concept that brings together Son Pham of Sonny’s Pizza and MO Bar alum June Baek. Running until 29 January, Pham and Baek transform Ghostwriter into an izakaya-like space complete with warm hospitality, comforting dishes, dangerously addictive cocktails, and a music playlist comprised of Japanese City Pop, disco, and ‘90s hip-hop and R&B.

Munch on snacks like Fried Tripe and Pork Skin Terrine as you leisurely sip on a Bingsu Fizz, or opt for the full six-course dinner and cocktail pairing experience, which brings together Pham’s culinary know-how with Baek’s undeniable expertise in cocktail alchemy. Standouts include Jook, a rice and daikon porridge with octopus, rice puffs, and homemade XO sauce, Grilled Short Rib Ssam, Nurungji Soup with Abalone and Wild Mushroom Rice, and the Ssook Sour cocktail, comprised of ssook, toasted sesame, ginger, Bombay Gin, egg white, and lemon.
