Blending soft geometry with extensive customisation possibilities, Dornbracht’s COYA collection offers a fresh approach to luxury bathroom design.

Today, luxury is increasingly defined by individuality. Rather than following a prescribed aesthetic, homeowners are seeking ways to create spaces that reflect their own tastes and values. Nowhere is this more evident than in the bathroom, where fittings have evolved from purely functional elements into defining design statements.

Responding to this evolution is COYA, the latest bathroom design series from Dornbracht. Designed by Sieger Design, the collection introduces a design language that balances seemingly opposing forms while offering extensive opportunities for personalisation.

At the heart of COYA is a geometry known as the "squircle", a hybrid shape that combines elements of both the circle and the square. Rather than choosing between sharp angles or soft curves, COYA blends the two through smooth transitions and flowing contours. The result is a fitting that feels both familiar and distinctive – bringing a sense of balance and softness to the bathroom environment.

This hybrid approach reflects a broader trend in interior design. Increasingly, homeowners and designers are embracing transitional spaces that combine traditional and contemporary influences rather than adhering to a single style. COYA's sculptural form allows it to complement a wide range of interiors, from minimalist urban residences to more layered and expressive spaces.

Beyond its visual appeal, COYA has been designed with interaction in mind. Its gently moulded handles create a tactile experience, encouraging touch while reinforcing the collection's emphasis on comfort and ease of use. Yet what truly sets the series apart is the ability to tailor it to individual preferences.

Through Dornbracht Atelier, the company's bespoke design division launched in 2025, COYA can be customised in ways that extend far beyond conventional finish selections. Homeowners, architects and interior designers can personalise the fittings with interchangeable handle inlays crafted from carefully selected materials, allowing the design to connect seamlessly with the broader material palette of the bathroom.

One example is The KNOT, a distinctive handle insert inspired by the enduring symbolism of knots as expressions of connection, continuity, and individuality. Designed as both a decorative and tactile element, it demonstrates how COYA can be adapted to create a more personal and expressive bathroom environment.

The collection can also incorporate natural gemstones as handle inlays. Sodalite introduces a deep midnight blue accented by delicate white veining, while amazonite offers vibrant turquoise tones. Aventurine, with its dark green hue and subtle sparkle, provides a more understated elegance. When paired with Dornbracht's curated finishes, these materials transform the fittings into highly individual design elements.

The possibilities extend even further through Dornbracht Atelier. Depending on the project, bespoke materials such as leather, eggshell or shell limestone can be incorporated, allowing designers to realise highly specific creative visions. Whether adapting an existing collection or developing a completely unique concept, the programme provides a level of design freedom rarely seen within the category.

Supporting this offering is Dornbracht's long-standing expertise in craftsmanship and bespoke production. Drawing on more than 75 years of manufacturing experience, each customised piece is produced with meticulous attention to detail, either within the company's facilities in South Westphalia or in collaboration with specialised partners.

With COYA, Dornbracht demonstrates how bathroom fittings can serve as both functional necessities and expressions of personal style. Combining a distinctive design language with extensive customisation possibilities, the collection reflects a growing desire for interiors that are not only beautiful, but also uniquely individual.
