The Moutai Singapore Open 2025 delivered a thrilling finish, with Japan’s Yosuke Asaji winning after a sudden-death playoff against Korea’s Jeunghun Wang. Asaji closed with a five-under 67 to set the clubhouse lead at 19-under, only for Wang to drain a matching birdie putt on the 18th to force extra holes. In the playoff, Wang found the water with his second shot, leaving Asaji to secure a composed birdie for his first overseas victory and the first win by a Japanese player at this event since 1976.

The final day saw constant movement at the top of the leaderboard, with Thailand’s Rattanon Wannasrichan and Korea’s Soomin Lee finishing just one shot outside the playoff. A crucial par save on the 15th kept Asaji in contention, capping a performance that builds on his strong season, which already  includes a win at The Crowns in Japan and a runner-up finish in the International Series Philippines. His Singapore triumph propels him to fifth on the Asian Tour Order of Merit and second on The International Series Rankings as players chase entry into the 2026 LIV Golf roster.

The tournament also showcased emerging talent, with all three amateurs in the regional exemption category making the cut. Singapore’s Brayden Lee and Troy Storm, along with Australia’s Harry Takis, gained valuable experience playing alongside seasoned professionals — a testament to the depth and opportunity within The International Series.
