But are these pieces enough to turn a house into a home? Probably not, which is why Sharon Wu, Director of Marquis HQO shares some indespensible decorating tips that will give a space instant personality and flair.
The best place to start is with color. "Color can be applied as a feature wall or through loose furniture pieces. However, don't go overboard with colors. A maximum of three tones is more than enough, otherwise, you run the risk of making your space look a little too cluttered and disjointed," shares Sharon.
But if you're someone who prefers a more neutral colored space, you can start small. "Key accessories and textiles are great ways to introduce color and vibrancy in small doses. You can use pillows, throws, rugs, or even art pieces, which can be easily changed or switched around according to your mood."
As for furniture pieces, functional is the way to go. By doing so, you are able to keep the number of furniture pieces to a minimum, which saves space, especially in high-rise living. Trans-terrain furniture is also another trend to consider, which finds indoor furniture doubling as outdoor furniture.
