Michelle Teo is the Global Vice President, Healthcare, DKSH

“As Global Vice President for Healthcare Own Brands at DKSH, I oversee the strategy, development, licensing/acquisition, and performance of our owned healthcare brands across multiple markets. This includes shaping the end-to-end lifecycle of our portfolio – from product ideation and regulatory readiness to commercialisation excellence, market expansion, and brand building across global markets.

As part of my leadership philosophy, I emphasise inclusive healthcare and patient-centric design, ensuring that our therapeutic solutions address the needs of patients, families, and caregivers across the markets we serve. With our purpose and mission of enriching people’s lives by providing better healthcare, our portfolio ranges from over-the-counter (OTC) therapeutic products to pharmaceutical medicines, including treatments for rare diseases.

One of our meaningful successes is that we recently accelerated access through close partnership with healthcare stakeholders by securing national reimbursement for the ophthalmic treatment in our key market in just 10 months, ahead of the usual time frame of 18 months. This not only enables patients to access treatment more quickly, but can also significantly improve their quality of life by eliminating affordability barriers.

One of the accomplishments I’m most proud of is the championing for equity in women’s health, building from our strong foundation in this therapeutic space from our Own Brands’ headquarters in Switzerland. As one of the leading healthcare business partners globally, DKSH, and I, as a woman, witness first-hand the challenges women face when it comes to health. From chronic conditions to preventable diseases, the need for greater support is urgent and real.

What differentiates our portfolio is the way we combine entrepreneurial brand building with DKSH’s institutional strengths. We have the agility to innovate and respond quickly to market needs, while leveraging DKSH’s deep regulatory expertise, local market knowledge, and trusted relationships across healthcare ecosystems. This allows our own brands to compete effectively with multinational players, while remaining closely aligned with local healthcare priorities.

With our strong networks across 70 markets globally in DKSH Own Brands, we’re uniquely positioned to combine international scale with deep local expertise to steer execution excellence. This allows our Own Brands portfolio to go beyond individual products and deliver well-designed, market-relevant solutions that address real-world healthcare challenges, while meeting the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.”
