Mlion offers one of the most diverse steel foundation solutions in the market by specializing in the supply of steel products that range from sheet piles to pipes, long and flat products, and machinery. However, it is in the area of innovation that it has truly earned its sterling reputation.
Since the start of its operation, the company has consistently demonstrated leadership in innovation. For instance, with the advent of advanced rolling technology, it gradually moved away from traditional products in favor of more effective and cost-efficient new alternatives.
“We are the first company in Asia to produce hot-rolled Z-shape sheet piles. We introduced MHZ, and made them available to be implemented in projects across the region. Apart from MHZ, we also pioneered other solutions that have yielded superior results,” according to Country Manager – Singapore, Songyi Ong.
Among them is the development of O-pile interlock technology to replace the traditional interlocking steel pipes that are used in high-strength retaining walls. Mlion has consequently made this technically superior solution cheaper and readily available across the region.
“For underground tunnel construction, we broke new grounds with high-accuracy, long-span interlocking pipe roof – an industry first,” says Ong, citing the breakthrough technology that has since found wide-ranging applications in challenging construction works.

Mlion deploys their proprietary innovations to improve construction methods and cost efficiency in various projects, but ultimately, doing so benefits countries and communities with infrastructure of high quality, reliability and integrity.
As a result, Mlion’s innovations have become industry benchmarks that have engendered new ideas and solutions. In the Philippines, for example, they worked with authorities to upgrade the skills of government engineers in designing with the latest technologies and using higher grade steel to produce cost-effective and efficient piles in flood control projects.
In 2016, when hydroelectric power plant owners and operators wanted to roll out water pipes in remote locations without access to power grids, Mlion took up the challenge and started working on a proof of concept that eventually became a reality.
In 2019, it launched its first pipe factory in Davao, Philippines – Precision Structural Specialists Corporation – a mobile pipe production facility that can be deployed to any location or terrain.
