MINI Creates a New Electric Vehicle (EV) that Defines the Premium Compact Car Segment
No Ordinary Car
The new MINI Electric is no ordinary car; it’s a premium, all-in-one solution for urban mobility. It is a competent and compact EV that offers an exceptionally fun and exhilarating ride—all with stylish good looks. MINI Heritage
With its spirited drive, iconic design and heaps of tech, the new MINI Electric is still every bit a MINI. It also retains that trademark MINI look, with contrasting roof and mirrors, characteristic wide set headlights, as well as bold new touches such as Power Spoke alloy wheels, luminous accents, and an updated grill.
Power Packed
The new MINI Electric has exactly the same boot capacity as the petrol-powered MINI 3 Door, thanks to some clever engineering that houses the batteries in the floor pan. The high capacity batteries give the electrified MINI a range of up to 270 kilometers. To keep you on the road, the vehicle comes with a fast charging DC system, which allows the battery to be recharged in a fast 35 minutes so you don’t have to worry about long recharging downtimes.
A Design Masterpiece
The new MINI Electric’s appeal lies in the updating of its original design. Exterior design features like the model-specific front radiator grill, the largely closed undercarriage, and the distinctively designed rear apron contribute to reducing aerodynamic drag. To distinguish itself from the rest of the MINI family, there are details such as the e-badge on the front grill, side scuttles, charging cap, and the vibrant Energetic Yellow trim.
It’s Fast and Agile
With 184 hp and the instantaneous torque that’s available from electric motors, the new MINI Electric is even able to put some European sports cars to shame— accelerating from zero to 60 kp/h in a lightning fast 3.9 seconds. Excellent handling, traction, and driving stability are made possible by a low center of gravity and the innovative “Active Slip Regulation” traction control.
Four Driving Modes
The first purely electrically powered MINI also enables the driver to adapt the vehicle setting to the current road conditions as well as to their own personal preferences. A switch located on the right-hand side of the toggle bar selects the MINI Electric Driving Modes: Sport, Mid, Green and Green+.
Additional Features
Standard features of the new MINI Electric include Adaptive LED matrix headlights, a two-zone climate control, full leather upholstery, Harman Kardon Sound System, Head Up Display, Full MINI Connected suite, and Apple CarPlay. There is also a 5.5-inch bright, easy to read, fully digital instrument cluster that displays essential information like speed, navigation, range status, and even charging station locations.
