The new Bang & Olufsen Beosound A5 looks to design codes of the past, resulting in a speaker that’s juxtaposed with both nostalgic and modern elements.

Natural aluminium with a woven paper fiber front and a light oak handle or black anthracite aluminium paired with a dark oak wood cover and handle – material pairings that lend the new portable Bang & Olufsen portable Beosound A5 speaker a beautiful, handcrafted look.

Designed in collaboration with Danish-Italian design duo GamFratesi, the Beosound A5 boasts meticulous craftsmanship and immersive sound, making it the perfect addition to the modern home or the best companion when spending time outside in nature.

“Our inspiration for Beosound A5 came from many places, including the iconic Beolit series, as well as natural materials synonymous with the colors and textures found in Scandinavian nature,” reveals GamFratesi. “From the traditional Panama straw hats worn on beaches, to the hand-woven leather accents of Danish chairs from the 1960s, blends of natural materials applied in experimental ways guided out design journey.”

The speaker’s handle allows it to be carried around with ease, while its IP65 weather and dustproof rating means that it can be taken on outdoor adventures. Versatility also comes into play with features like 12 hours of playtime and a wireless phone charger that’s integrated into the top panel.

Beyond good looks, the Beosound A5 is Bang & Olufsen’s most powerful speaker to date, providing big sound wherever it’s placed. The four-way driver setup with four digital amplifiers provides 280 watts of power, which can fill large rooms with dynamic 360-degree sound. Also notable is the beamforming technology, an innovation first built into the Beolab series, which has been brough to Beosound A5 to control sound with high precision.
