Longines celebrates 60 years of the Flagship with a limited edition collection and special charity auction

In 1957, Longines launched its first Flagship timepiece, which sparked huge success with its iconic white dial, thin profile, and fine fastener. Decades since its launch, the company is currently celebrating the timepiece’s 60th year with The Flagship Heritage – 60th Anniversary 1957-2017 collection.

Actress Kate Winslet, Longines’ Ambassador of Elegance, was recently inspired and fell in love with a particular model from the Swiss watchmaker on a fateful visit to the brand’s headquarters in Switzerland. In turn, the serendipitous encounter between Kate and the watch was the catalyst for Longines to base the Flagship Heritage by Kate Winslet Limited Edition in yellow gold, which features the same dial as The Flagship Heritage – 60th Anniversary 1957-2017. This limited edition range highlights the company’s high-quality and high-precision performance, and at the same time, expresses the watchmaker’s urge to carry on its long-lasting tradition of supporting various charities.

Currently, the company has chosen to auction three of the five limited pieces (2/5, 3/5, and 4/5) to support The Golden Hat Foundation, founded by Kate Winslet, which aims to change the way people perceive autism by promoting the potential people suffering from it have. Funds generated from the auction will then be used to provide people with autism proper education and career training, giving them a chance to realize their dreams. Meanwhile, one piece will be kept in the Longines Museum (1/5), and the last piece will be owned by Kate Winslet (5/5).
